The physics of carrying a mat in this sort of open hanging manner have both inherent advantages-- ease, speed- and disadvantages- shifting a lot, easily unbalanced, banging against you or getting caught on things. This sling is a basic accessory, very well made & the clip works well. It is slighly mystifying the first few times you use it & is exceptionally sturdy. Has no real flaws & does the job. If the banging around (I can see this getting caught on doorways & such) is a real detriment, use an enclosed bag. I like this for the grab & go plain Jane minimalist utility. Very sturdy.
