I work from home, and spend most of my day on the computer. My biggest issue has been finding a place for my cats to sleep peacefully near by. I have set up a cat condo and even beds with blankets and pillows in the near by closet. They do use those on occasion. However, ever since putting in this bed on things have changed.I honestly thought at first it was a bit small and cheap compared to other blankets. Either way with the price I thought I would take a chance. I am happy I did too. Now all day at work the cats take turns sleeping on this bed on my computer desk. When one cat gets up to use the bathroom or get a drink, another quickly steals it spot.Sometimes one of them will just sleep the entire day on it. The fact is this is the go to sleeping spot for my cats now. Great product for the price. Its also very easy to fold and adjust. Making the product perfect for any space. If you have a cat, put this by your favorite place in the house to hang out. They will love resting on it with you.Using it in a feral cat house. Hopefully it will keep them warm. It was delivered quickly. My very spoiled cats have many places to sleep. This new bed is crinkly and self heating and they must've noticed how furry and crinkly and warm it is because they sometimes prefer it to the heating pad that's on 24/7.I put these blankets in the cats houses on a bed in the winter and they seem to stay nice and warm on the coldest winter nights! But I still keep the cats in the house when it gets below zero and when I let them out again they go potty and right back in their houses and curl up in their blankets! After reading a lot of reviews on different products, I landed on Millard self heating pads, in this case, for cats. I originally ordered two. We have 2, sometimes 3, outside orphan cats we adopted. We have two cats inside, one 16 and one 10 years old. With cold weather headed this way, and after reading the reviews for this particular pad, I ordered two of them. I put them in one of the places we made for the cats and they immediately got on them. I had also fixed a separate place for the cat that wouldn't sleep with these other two. So, I ordered two more pads and have put both of them outside in the houses we've made for the cats. Now they have two different places where anywhere they go, all of them will have a place to sleep warm. They love them. They didn't smell, they crinkle just a tiny, tiny bit but nothing that would keep them from getting on them. When I see them on these cold mornings coming out of their houses, I know they were warm because they come out stretching and purring and feeling warm. So I would definitely recommend these Millard Self heating cat pads to anyone who has outdoor cats for the winter. I laid one of them in the living room floor, before putting them outside, to see how the inside cats reacted, and they got on them immediately and slept for a long time. I may purchase a 5th one for my 16 year old inside cat but we have warm places for them to lay but I figured the outside cats needed them more. So please trust me, I hardly ever write a review but on this one I am since I bought so many of them and I'll have them for next year. I like the fact that they can get heat from both sides--so on the outside cats I put the terry part next to them since I figured that would be even warmer than the slicker side since they're out in the cold. Thanks to Amazon for offering Millard products an thanks to Millard for making a good quality self heating pad for cats and dogs too.My cat loves his mat. Be advised, it does not respond well to washing. Delicate cycle - even in the dryer low to no heat setting at all. Fibers are loosened and the top begins to look much worse for wear. Cat still loves it, but it is fairly raggedy looking. This product will make a crinkling noise, I would say it is equivalent to putting a plastic grocery bag under a blanket and then walking on it. This does not phase my extremely timid ex-stray cat in the least. He is pretty much afraid of everything including actual plastic bags but he will walk over to it and lay on this with no problem.I can't say either way about how well the thermal feature works. I tried sitting on it to see if I could notice a difference but I got impatient and forgot what I was doing (embarrassing..). It's not shown in the provided photos but opposite the blue cheetah print is a solid navy blue fleece. So even though I couldn't test the thermal part the fleece still gets pretty warm.I just have mine out on the floor near by bed because he likes sleeping with me but I always end up kicking him off. So now he can sleep nearby without the fear of getting booted mid-sleep. He does use it every day although I rarely find him on it when I'm not in the same room (it does happen though). All in all I think it's a good little sleeping pad it definitely gets used and I thought I would need the larger 23x30 for my fat cat but its got room enough for 3 more of him. I assume it would be great for crates or if your pet has a little area to crawl in and hole up with it. I'm happy that he uses it and seems to like it.***********Update: March 11, 14*************Wow okay I felt I had to update this because he literally uses this all the time. It has become one of his go-to spots whether I'm in the room or not. He's always napping, cleaning and hanging out on it. Even now that the weather is warming up and I thought it's use would decrease that is not the case. He is on this bed about as much time as he spends in his cat tree or lounging in the window which I have to say for a cat is an impressive amount of time. I think this is also influenced by the fact that it is in a 'good' spot in the house. I think if you put it somewhere the cat won't normally be it obviously won't see any use or draw them to a new spot but because this is in a room he spends a lot of time in, in the first place, it gets used.He is also still terrified of plastic bags and scary unfamiliar noises and the small noise this thing does manage to produce has never been a problem. If I had more than 1 cat I would definitely buy more. I'll add a picture of him on it to show a real size comparison since the dinky toy cat they use in example pictures can be misleading. It's bigger than I expected and super soft. It arrived yesterday and Tiggy has hardly left it. I can't fill in the part about cleaning it as it hasn't needed it yet. Or if I can remove it. Will be ordering a other one in the next few days so we can have one on the sofa fir her and one on her bed. She has arthritis so this will be good for her in the winter.I am very happy with these beds. I bought 2, and so far one cat loves them and the other cat hasn't noticed them. The crinkly sound other reviewers have mentioned is not a problem. They were slightly different shades of blue ( on the patterned side ) but this doesn't matter to me. Be careful with the size, which is perfect if your cat sleeps in a neat little ball, but a bit on the small side if he sprawls and spreads out a lot.My cat loves this bed, ideal size toomilliard make great quality pet products and this mat is no different,it's a decent size and very cosy. the thermal layer is sewn in so it stays in place unlike with other similar thermal mats,it does rustle but my 2 cats & 3 dogs queue up to use it and it doesn't bother any of them,it also washes well and keeps it's shape and colours.Ever since I got it my cat sleeps on it every night so soft and warm
