First off this is a very well constructed bag. Nice zippers heavy duty material and very nice stitching. It also is very big. It will hold my 50 inch rifle and large scope without any problems. It converts itself from a carrying case to a Shooters mat which is a big plus . The padding serves double duty when the case is closed to protect your rifle and when you open it fully it provides a very comfortable place to lay down and shoot your weapon. Believe it or not it's very comfortable to lay on.The only cons I see with the case are.Not a lot of storage compartments. And at a price point that is close to a Pelican case I would expect it not to be made in China but it is. I made the assumption that it was American-made when I bought it.Update.I've been out on the Range maybe 10 times with this bag so I kind of have a feel for it now. All the stuff I said before still valid.Very comfortable to lay on I said that before my previous review but it is very comfortable to lay on.There are a couple of features I wish it had.Could use a few external pockets I can't tell you how many times I forgot to put something in the case after I zipped it up and had to open it up to stow something I forgot to put in the case.Could use a shoulder strap I don't use the backpack option often just would be nice to have a shoulder strap for short moves on the Range IE from car to benches.Could use bipod straps for stabilization. These are just a few small gripes that should not stop you purchasing this productVery nice bag that is extremely well built. Sturdy construction with quality materials and plenty of padding. This bag is almost overbuilt, if there is such a thing, they did not skimp anywhere! Hands down, this is the best rifle bag I own and it is my only shooting mat thus far, but all other mats will be judged against this one.I used an Exacto knife to remove the tie straps for camoflauging the bag, pretty certain I will never need that feature. If the price is your hold up with this bag, it is easily justified when you consider this bag will outlast two of its competitors. I have owned several different cases from all the well known makers and Galati will be my first choice with my next rifle. For me, when buying something over the internet, it comes down to the things that the pictures can't convey - the heft, the thickness of the material, how well does everything work (zippers, pouches with velcro, any elastics) these things are always unknowns and are reasons for concern. I had read great reviews of this case and bought with confidence. But, after using this bag for a couple months, I will have no reservations ordering anything from Galati from here on out. This thing is great. The padding is wonderful, zippers and material are high quality. The muzzle pocket and adjustable tie down work well. The backpack setup is nice, but takes some adjusting to hang properly. It does have sternum and waist straps, unlike some of the other cases. I am tall and if I am not careful I can hit the pack with the back of my legs, shorter folks may need to be ware of this.I looked at several other cases, including ordering a condor and after sending it back I ordered this one. Its more money but its totally worth it. I am 6'4" tall and this fits me fine. I have two comments though.1) It uses ALICE instead of the newer MOLLE system for attaching extra storage. Kind of a bummer when you want to attach your existing gear when using this as a backpack2) The dust flap works great, but it would be nice if it had a hole/velcro flap where the rifle tie down is so the rifle is not covered by flap. It would make using the case as a case at the range without having a dust flap get in the way.Overal good product. Well made, solid zippers and material. Padding in all three panels, with a fold out material section to provide protection for lower body. Drag handle is sown to outside panel, as are the shoulder straps. The outside front panel also has numerous strings sown onto it. No re-inforcement of the underlying material at the attachment points will quickly result in ripped outer cover. Great idea, bad execution. Besides, the bag is black, who needs camouflage.Carry handles seem off center when carrying the bag empty, resulting in bag tip. Packing a full length rifle seems to balance the bag out perfectly.Pocket for cleaning rod is great and adds some rigidity to bottom of bag.Overall great bag for casual range use.Great product! What can I say it is a Galati. I shoot 1000 yard gongs with my Savage 10 HS Precision with FGMM 168gr .308 I use Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50. I shoot prone and the Galati drag bag is great I am able to load my Harris bi-pod with no problems because of the "sticky" pads (that is what I call them) that come with the bag hold the bi-pod very well. The padding in the bag is comfortable enough to sit prone for hours (as I do when I go shooting). The bag holds my rifle like a glove, very compact worlds different than my Pelican cases that I use to transport my rifles when traveling on planes. And yes I know that is like comparing apples and oranges. But I have compared them to other drag bags I would say just spend the money once and get yourself a Galati. While other drag bags are cheaper and ok the Galati does not have a competitor in the drag bag department.Great Product, well made. It does everything it says it will do. The only complaint I have with it are the shoulder straps. They could have a little less sharp edges. They poke you in the neck of face when you go to wear it on your back.Very well made with good quality material. There are similar product out there, cheaper with inferior material. I hope they come out with intermediate model with length of, say 52". That will cover another spectrum of rifle length and could replace the foam of the Storm case, transporting the complete rifle in the Storm Case securely in the Galati case ready to deploy at destination. Definitely a good product.
