I being male clearly did not buy this for myself.I bought this mat for my girlfriend who is a beginner in Yoga. She was very happy with it. The pink is actually a bubblegum pink, so if that is the color your girlfriend is looking for then this is the mat.She says that she likes the waffle pattern. She says it's very comfortable. I have a different mat with a more abrasive surface. She doesn't like that feel. The J/fit mat is quite soft and comfortable, mine is stiffer. The softness makes it more difficult on long holds requiring balance, but is extremely nice for the floor positions.She says that its not sticky, therefore she can change positions without the mat lifting up with her hand. During high intensity workouts the mat doesn't become slippery with sweat, which is very safe. The last thing one needs when practicing is a sweaty hand to slip out during a complicated pose.This is a great mat for a beginner.
